Write it down

November 30, 2025

I have undiagnosed ADHD.

"I don't have enough time."

"I've never been good at finding the right words."

"There are smarter people out there with way better writing skills."

My excuses for not writing over the years are endless, so I had to recently flip the script and find my why.

Family

Connectedness and opportunity. I realized that my love of family and relationships, and the joy that comes from hearing and feeling heard, is always going to be worth optimizing for. Be the best that I can be and help those close to me do the same.

Imagine the average life in America. How many conversations do you think that is? 🗣️ Shared meals? 🥘 Vacations? 🏞️

At least in my life, here's what I'm looking at. These are the moments that mean the most:

Family Meals

Vacations

Weekend Outings

Friends

I'm going to use the term "friend" liberally in this post, because this point is more about impact. I want to have a positive impact on the world (I think it's safe to say 99% of people would [at least] say the same). If we've had friendly conversations in the past, shared meals or coffee, traveled together - I've genuinely appreciated that time and want more of that and consider you a friend!

When you get to know me, you'll quickly learn that I'm not exactly a proponent of social media platforms. There's already plenty of data about how social media maybe isn't as social as some tech companies would like us to think. These platforms are built to capture our attention and time, not guide us towards spending time together. If you'd ever like to chat or grab a coffee, just reach out. ☕️

Introspection

Most of my written work is exactly that – work. But I'm going to try and change my perspective on this. Taking the time to reflect is an investment in my own happiness, in those around me, and in building a practice that compounds over time.

What's next

I'm going to build this habit of reflecting and writing, post by post, heading into 2026. It's like getting to the gym — I know it's a muscle to build, and the outcomes can feel invisible at first. But just like fitness, the real results come from showing up consistently, even when you don't feel like it. This is me, showing up.

One way I'm planning to make this easier will be to write about things that help me invest in my relationships or how I help others. Align the "work" with the outcomes.
